The client company is a major law firm. Position is based in Los Angeles, California. Attractive compensation package includes full benefits. Director of Diversity and Inclusion Our Client is seeking a Director of Diversity and Inclusion who will lead the development of the Firm's diversity strategy and implement and oversee diversity initiatives to improve recruiting, retention and the promotion of diversity at the Firm. This is a full-time exempt position, based in our Southern California office, reporting directly to the Firm's Chair. The diversity director will reach out to the Firm's key clients (for whom diversity is a priority) and seek opportunities for joint diversity related initiatives; provide diversity and compliance consulting and expertise to senior management; and raise awareness and engage others to further the Firm's goals around building an inclusive workforce. He or she will work with practice section leaders in the development of their annual business plans and develop analytical tools and methods to measure the effectiveness of the Firm's diversity strategy; serve as the Firm's representative to external professional and community organizations; and build key relationships with diverse professional organizations for the purpose of recruitment of women, minority and LGBT attorneys and staff. Specific responsibilities include: organizing and implementing all diversity training programs; assisting in the development of practices to attract, mentor, retain and promote women, minority and LGBT attorneys and staff; fostering an open and affirming culture for people with diverse backgrounds; providing Firm business leaders (practice section, client team, offices) with reports focused on retention and promotion; helping identify opportunities to improve the diversity of our practices and client teams; and working with the marketing department to develop communications to the Firm and its clients regarding the Firm's diversity. The diversity director will respond to external surveys and requests for information about the Firm's diversity and initiatives, and will and expand, coordinate and develop tracking tools to enhance the Firm’s relationships with clients and prospective clients. Requirements: The successful candidate will be a professional in the diversity management field, with 6-10 years of experience in developing diversity strategies and leading initiatives in professional services firms.
