Director of Total Loss Auto Claims

 SUMMARY:

In collaboration with Claim Center Vice President/Auto Field Product Line Manager, provide direction and leadership to Total Loss while consistently achieving Top Tier results.  Drive Total Loss product strategies and ensure policies, procedures, and standards are implemented and maintained to guarantee high quality, cost-effective claim management.  Consistently coach, mentor, motivate, assess and develop staff to their fullest potential.  Provide consistent performance feedback, and hold all employees accountable for results.

 

 

PRIMARY DUTIES:

Management of local QM (self review) process, including execution of the strategy, distribution of reports; analysis of results; and implementation of improvement plans.

 

Analyze/utilize management information to drive business results.

 

Coordinate marketing and Agency relations.  Support Marketing by participating in sales and account management process.  Represent the Company, ensuring favorable business relations and the acquisition and retention of profitable business.

 

Manage ULAE and LAE (Loss Adjustment Expense).

 

Develop and implement process improvement strategies that impact pay out, investigations, subrogation, structured settlement, and litigation management.

 

Maximize individual and organizational performance.

 

Provide guidance and direction to Unit Managers and claim handlers through a continuous process of management involvement and claim file reviews.  Develop and implement strategies and plans to address Unit Manager professional development.  Make certain training needs are identified and addressed on an ongoing basis.  Develop plans to ensure leadership and technical continuity for the organization.

 

Evaluate claim behaviors, taking improvement actions as appropriate.  Identifies, develops and retains high potential/high performing employees who have the capacity for or are ready to fill critical roles in the organization.

 

 

EDUCATION/WORK EXPERIENCE:

College degree or equivalent work experience.

Extensive Claim management background

Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of marketing, underwriting and account management processes.

Current on jurisdictional laws and regulations.  Insurance license(s) as required by state regulation.
