GlobalHue Latino is the No. 1 Hispanic Agency, according to Adweek

Southfield, MI--(HISPANIC PR WIRE)--November 16, 2007--To expand its capabilities and expertise and to remain the top Hispanic advertising agency in the nation, GlobalHue announced today that Laura Marella will join the company as a Vice Chairman. She will oversee and direct the Hispanic marketing services for all of GlobalHue Latino’s clients. In this capacity, she will also lead intra-agency initiatives and cross-discipline integration.

“As a well-respected veteran in the industry, Laura brings some new heat to the Hispanic side of our business that complements our other recent appointments and our future plans to name a president of GlobalHue Latino,” said Don Coleman, Chairman and CEO of GlobalHue. “Strategically, to remain the leader in Hispanic marketing, it is vital to align our vision, resources, talent and expertise – make necessary adjustments – to meet and surpass all of our clients’ expectations.”

Strategically, to remain the leader in Hispanic marketing, it is vital to align our vision, resources, talent and expertise – make necessary adjustments – to meet and surpass all of our clients’ expectations

As recently as September, GlobalHue announced an intensive talent search over the past six months to upgrade its Hispanic team and to remain the No. 1 Hispanic agency in the nation. Marella follows the appointments of Tony Hidalgo as the new Senior Vice President/Executive Creative Director, Nelson Garcia as Senior Vice President/Executive Media Director, and the move of Liz Silvi to Senior Vice President/Group Account Director for GlobalHue Latino.

“GlobalHue Latino is uniquely positioned to take Hispanic marketing communications to a new level,” said Marella. “The bench strength across marketing disciplines has already driven impressive organic and new client growth. I look forward to helping to channel and leverage the agency’s assets toward a new paradigm in Hispanic marketing communications.”

Just yesterday, GlobalHue announced the repositioning of its agency to create four new agencies – GlobalHue Latino, GlobalHue African-American, GlobalHue Asian Pacific Islander and GlobalHue Next. Each company will offer services that are tailored specifically for each consumer market it targets. Strategically, this will reposition each company to stay ahead of the curve and continue to effectively reach the nation’s fastest growing markets — now and in the future. The new transition will be seamless to GlobalHue clients, who will continue to experience the one-stop-shop services and efficiencies they have always received.

Since 1999, Marella has been the Senior Vice President, Chief Growth Officer for Casanova Pendrill, which merged with Interpublic Group of Companies. She led all new business efforts, and the creation and development of integrated communications services into the agency’s stable of service offerings, which includes promotions, event marketing, direct marketing, and digital communications. Marella’s role further expanded to include management of several of the agency’s largest accounts, including The U.S. Army, Corona and Modelo Especial beers, Kohl’s Department Stores, California Lottery and Microsoft Xbox. She was also responsible for the establishment and management of the agency’s first full-service New York office.

Her career began in Media Buying and Planning for J. Walter Thompson in Washington, D.C., where she was primarily responsible for regional Burger King and Ford Motor Company advertising and merchandising activities. Soon thereafter, she joined Casanova Pendrill as Media Director, where she represented clients such as the U.S. Marine Corps, SBC, The Home Depot, Coors Brewing Company, General Mills, Eveready, Gillette and The California Lottery, among others.

Marella also is a prominent speaker at various industry conferences and has served on industry Boards, including Chairperson of the AAAA (American Association of Advertising Agencies) Multicultural Committee, and Treasurer and Vice Chair of AHAA (Association of Hispanic Advertising Agencies).
