Day Pitney LLP Enhances Diversity Initiative With Appointment of Peter Wilson, Jr. as Director of Diversity & Legal Recruiting
HARTFORD, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Day Pitney LLP has announced that Peter Wilson, Jr., who was until recently an Associate in the firm’s Institutional Financial and Commercial Lending practice, has been named Director of Diversity & Legal Recruiting. In this new position, Wilson will work closely with the Executive and Recruiting Committees to ensure that the firm continues to attract top legal talent and maintains its leadership in the area of diversity.
Wilson has been a member of the firm’s Diversity and Hiring Committees for the past five years and has served as coordinator for the firm’s summer associate program and Minority Law Student Mentor Program.
Wilson has also served as the Diversity Co-Director of the Young Lawyers Session for the Connecticut Bar Association. Additionally, he was named one of Hartford’s 2007 “40 Under 40” business leaders by the Hartford Business Journal and one of Connecticut Law Tribune’s 2004 “New Leaders of the Law.”

Crawford Black Bar Association. He also serves as a board member for the Hartford Children’s Theater and the Connecticut Rivers Council of the Boy Scouts of America.
Wilson has represented the State of Connecticut as lead counsel, bond counsel and disclosure counsel in numerous bond issuances, including $1,030,375,000 State of Connecticut General Obligation Refunding Bonds (2004 Series B), which was the largest advance refunding in the state’s history.
