Sheela Mirmira Joins NCOA as Director for Corporate Partnerships & Development

WASHINGTON-The National Council on Aging (NCOA) is pleased to announce that Sheela Mirmira has been named Director for Corporate Partnerships and Development. In this role, she will be working as part of NCOA’s Partnerships Team to engage corporations in support of NCOA’s programs that help hundreds of thousands of seniors across the country and the community organizations that serve them.

“During the last several years, NCOA has developed a strong track record of engaging private sector leaders in the important work of improving the lives of older adults,” said S. Stuart Spector, Senior Vice President at NCOA. “Sheela will help us expand our efforts in new and innovative ways.”

Mirmira brings more than a decade of national-level nonprofit experience to NCOA. Mirmira spent the last five years at the AARP Foundation. In her most recent position there, she managed the Foundation’s Women’s Leadership Circle, which is a network of women, volunteer leaders, and corporations working to promote financial security and independence for women as they age. In prior roles, she worked for other national nonprofits, such as Easter Seals, the American Nurses Association, and the Campaign for Tobacco-free Kids.

Throughout her career in the nonprofit workforce, Mirmira has acquired expertise in building development and marketing strategic plans, donor cultivation, project management, fund-raising, and media relations.

“I am thrilled to be a part of this dynamic and creative team at NCOA,” said Mirmira. “I believe that there are great opportunities ahead to expand NCOA’s reach and thereby have an impact on the number of those who need our services most.”
