2008 Outstanding Employee With a Disability Award Nomination

To Be Presented at the 11th Annual Awards Luncheon

October 15, 2008  Texas Station, Las Vegas Nevada

2008 Nomination Information

In conjunction with national disabilities Awareness month, the Work Enhancement Employment Team (WEET) will once again host a luncheon on October 15 at Texas Station.  The luncheon will honor the top disabled employees in Clark County and the companies who hire them.

If your organization would like to nominate an employee to receive recognition at this event, please complete the enclosed nomination form. Nominations are free, but must be received on or before the September 28 deadline.

Countless studies have proven employee recognition to be the chief component in gaining and retaining staff, and maintaining a positive work environment.  Do your part.  Nominate a disabled employee today.

Nomination Instructions

General: Awards are presented to employees with significant disabilities in recognition of their exemplary job performance and remarkable contributions to the work place and community and for showing that a person with a disability is really a person of ability.  Information provided will be used solely in considering the nominee for an award.

Eligibility: Nominees must work a minimum of 20 hours per week for either the Federal, State, City or County government or a private company in the Greater Las Vegas area.  Nominees may not be in a probationary status, training program, or internship.  Prior nominees who have not been recognized as a winner may be re-nominated.

Agency/Company Selection: Organizations should carefully consider all of the award criteria before selecting a nominee.  Care should be taken when drafting a nomination as this will be the only tool used by the committee to select honorees. A single organization may submit no more than two nominations.

Nominations will be judged by an independent panel.  Two outstanding disabled employees will be chosen from both the public and private sectors.
