RCN Sponsors 18th Annual Skokie Festival of Cultures

Award-Winning Festival Celebrates Diversity of Skokie Residents

CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--RCN Corporation (NASDAQ: RCNI), a leading provider of triple-play digital television, high-speed internet and phone services announced today that the company is sponsoring this years Skokie Festival of Cultures, which takes place May 17-18. RCN has been a corporate sponsor of this event for the past five years.

Garnering national recognition as one of the finest ethnic festivals, the Skokie Festival of Cultures aims to bring people together in a culturally exciting environment where they can share and respect their differences and discover some of their similarities. The event will include hourly music and dance performances, food, drinks, an ethnic marketplace, bazaar, 50+ individual ethnic showcase booths and childrens multicultural activities.

Now in its 18th year, this festival attracts about 25,000 people every year to celebrate the cultural diversity of local Skokie residents.

Hosted by the Skokie Park District, the Skokie Festival of Cultures will take place Saturday, May 17 from 11am through 7pm and Sunday, May 18 from 11am-7pm. at Oakton Park, a 19.8 acre park that is centrally located 15 minutes north of downtown Chicago in Skokie.
