AFRICAN AMERICAN ENGINEER PROMOTED TO DIRECTOR WITHIN HARLEY-DAVIDSON NORTH AMERICAN SALES MILWAUKEE - Harley-Davidson Motor Company names John Comissiong Director, Sales Administration of North American Sales. He is responsible for overseeing the execution of Harley-Davidson’s motorcycle allocation policy and North Americans’ sales programs and promotions. Comissiong began his career at Harley-Davidson in 2003 as a Project Lead where he helped lead the efforts to install the Material Velocity distribution centers at the Kansas City and York final assembly plants. Subsequently, he served as Analyst to the Insurance group and then as Strategic Planning Manager for the Performance Network Program for Harley-Davidson Financial Services (HDFS) in Chicago. Comissiong’s diverse skill set has proven effective in his rapid climb through the ranks of the Company. He also held the position of Ecommerce Product Marketing Manager, where he was responsible for producing online customization tools and loading product content for both Parts & Accessories and General Merchandise. Comissiong earned a bachelor of science in mechanical engineering from Cornell University and a master of science in mechanical engineering from Stony Brook University. He also received a master of business administration (MBA) from Duke’s Fuqua School of Business. His previous experience as Quality Assurance Engineer and Assistance Engineering Manager at Canon USA capitalized on his technical skills in quality testing and new product development.
