| Press Release NEWS RELEASE For Immediate Release- March 12, 2007 (BPRW)(BW)(CA-HILTON/LIVING-LEGACY) (HLT) Hilton Hotels Corporation and Hilton Los Angeles Airport General Manager Recognized at Black History Month Celebration (BLACK PR WIRE) BEVERLY HILLS, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 12, 2007--Going to bat in the Compton Little League program makes a huge difference for kids sorely in need of positive role models and recreational facilities. It earned Grant Coonley, general manager of the Hilton Los Angeles Airport, the 2007 Living Legacy Award at the recent 2007 Black History Month Living Legacy Awards. In addition, Mr. Coonley received a Commendation from the State of California award for leadership and community involvement from 51st California District Representative, the Honorable Curren D. Price, Jr. Helping rebuild Jackie Robinson Stadium was the easy part. Gaining the trust and support of the community, and providing an alternative to gangs in one of the most dangerous cities in America, requires perseverance and dedication. Coonley and the Hilton Los Angeles Airport participate in many community programs, from career day at Morningside High School in Inglewood, to a crucial job alliance with Bishop Williamson and the 100 Christian Methodist Episcopal (CME) churches he works with to find jobs for their congregations. Hilton Los Angeles Airport employees volunteer their time working with community members on completing job applications, job attire and interview techniques. "It's a lot of work, but there is little that could be more gratifying," said Coonley. Coonley wasn't the only one singled out at this year's 2007 Black History Month Living Legacy Awards and Gospel Musical celebration; Hilton Hotels Corporation was recognized for its leadership and commitment toward creating career opportunities for those considering employment in the hospitality industry as well as other community efforts. The company celebrated Black History Month with three honors (so far) this year. Through the leadership of Hilton executives, there have been at least eight workshops held on Saturdays through out the LA area informing the public about the tremendous career opportunities in the hospitality industry. Hilton Hotels Corporation prides itself on living its commitment to diversity and their be hospitable(R) philosophy. The company is very proud of its many team members who give of their time and energy to make the communities in which we live and work better places. Coonley's effort is one example among many. He smiled and said, "When you care about people and their communities, it makes the extra work easy." His team members would agree.
